When Your Swing Doesn’t Feel Right
April 6th, 2008
We all have days when our golf swing just doesn’t “feel right”. Usually this feeling is accurate - we just don’t “have it” that day.
When those days happen, try this:
First, stretch your muscles for a few minutes, then swing two or three clubs at a time for a while - swing easy, try to relax and not think about it.
Also, take a mid range iron, and keeping your feet very close together, swing it as though you were hitting a golf ball. Make sure that you turn your shoulders back and forward (opened and closed) as you swing.
This will loosen you body and help you relax. Usually this feeling of “not having it” will dissipate because “not having it” is usually caused by stress - which has led to tense or sore muscles.
I hope that this helps.
Remember, even the pro’s have bad days and so will you. When this happens, trust your swing - even if it doesn’t seem to be working that day. DON’T try something NEW! This could spell disaster!
